Cotton Crawfish Festival and Services Showcase Draws Record Attendance

The annual Cotton Foundation Crawfish Boil, held April 16th at the 40-acre Cotton Corporate Campus in Katy, Texas, was one for the record books. The event drew a crowd of nearly 700 people – almost double the attendance of last year – made up of clients, vendors, industry partners and friends. Cotton personnel across all divisions, and representing offices from coast to coast, were on hand to entertain guests and promote the company’s multiple service lines – from Disaster Restoration to Oilfield Lodging to Catering.

Aside from the “Field of Dreams” baseball field, “Cotton Corral” party barn and other staple facilities on the property, Cotton Logistics’ was excited to unveil their new OneLodge Showcase. The model property was designed to provide a convenient location for clients operating within the energy sector and in the greater Houston metroplex to tour a typical OneLodge workforce housing concept without having to travel long distances to one of the seven other OneLodge sites in south or west Texas.

Dubbed the “Lakehouse at Cotton Ranch”, the OneLodge Showcase features two unique modular buildings provided by manufacturers, ATCO Structures and Teton Buildings, that include 9 separate guest rooms and suites – several with private kitchens. Covered decks, a stocked pond and outdoor pavilion were added to demonstrate various amenities that are typical of a OneLodge property; and a recreation center is being added later this year. “Cotton felt it was imperative to provide this close showcase option along the energy corridor, and we look forward to hosting numerous tours to clients and prospects who may be in the market for temporary workforce housing for their projects,” said CEO Pete Bell.

Also showcasing their ability at the annual fundraising event, Cotton Culinary provided the catering throughout the day serving various appetizers, barbecue, desserts and 2500 pounds of boiled crawfish along with sausage, corn and potatoes. Many assets were on display including the newly built custom crawfish trailer, barbecue trailer and one of two 53’ mobile kitchen trailers. Cotton Culinary is one of Cotton’s more recent divisions to come online, first taking over food and beverage services within the OneLodge facilities about 14 months ago, and now also offering Remote Site Catering, Emergency Food Services, Corporate Catering and Business Dining Services.

Guests danced to music provided by the Texas Unlimited Band and a sports memorabilia silent auction generated additional contributions for the Cotton Foundation (www.cottonfoundation.com), a charitable organization dedicated to restoring hope to children whose lives have been affected by national disasters and other life-altering challenges. This year’s Crawfish Festival raised a total of approximately $85,000 for the foundation’s main philanthropic mission, Taylor’s Place, a retreat facility for families and children plagued with illness and hardship.
