Government Agency Hurricane Responder Camp Construction

Loss Event: Hurricane

Project Overview: After a Category 4 hurricane devastated Southwest Louisiana, Cotton Logistics was tasked with providing temporary facilities and services to support a first responders camp established by a major government agency. Ninety-six hours after contract approval, Cotton Logistics had deployed, installed, and connected the first 306 beds. In just over eleven days, 1,000 more beds were commissioned for occupancy – a process that traditionally takes over 120 days to complete. Despite the tight deadline, the threat of a second hurricane, and a global pandemic, Cotton Logistics safely and successfully provided housing, housekeeping services, and meals for up to 1,000 first responders daily for three months.

Turnkey Services Provided:

  • Delivered and installed 1,306 Responder Lodging Capsules with private bedrooms and bathrooms in 16 days
  • Prepared and served breakfast, lunch, and dinner to more than 1,000 first responders daily, included customizations due to specific dietary restrictions
  • Managed a 1,000 and 300-person camp with strict COVID-19 regulations and protocols for housekeeping, food service, employees, and guests
  • Performed COVID-19 precautionary cleaning and confirmed case disinfection in common areas and rooms
  • Designed and managed COVID-19 isolation areas
  • Administered 24-hour operations, including fuel supply and any required maintenance and repairs for the duration of the deployment
  • Provided potable and grey water supply, storage, removal, and disposal services to all modular units, including the kitchen, dining, supplemental restroom, shower trailers, and ancillary support units
  • Delivered and installed temporary dining and kitchen facilities

  • Blocked, set, and leveled all modular structures
  • Completed water testing of public water source after the major hurricane wiped out the city’s water system
