Chemical Plant Hurricane Temporary Facilities & Food Services

Loss Event: Hurricane

Project Overview: Following a devastating Category 4 hurricane in Southwest Louisiana, a leading chemical company contacted Cotton Logistics and tasked the team with providing temporary facilities and services to employees at their site. Together with Cotton Culinary, Cotton Logistics provided food, laundry, and showers for the company’s employees despite changing deadlines and schedules, the threat of a second hurricane, and a global pandemic. Over the course of the project, the Cotton Logistics team provided approximately 1,000 meals every day for employees and managed the installation of temporary shower and laundry trailers despite a temporary shut off of power due to the hurricane.

Turnkey Services Provided:

  • Chef created menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight meals, based on the client’s needs
  • Cotton Culinary made operational adjustments as the client phased in their supporting contractors and ramped up the plant’s operations
  • Supplied a semi-trailer to store ice and ice freezers to keep food fresh for the daily meals
  • Mobilized shower trailers and laundry units for use by the client’s on-site employees
