Petroleum Refinery Labor Strike Emergency Catering

Loss Event: Labor Strike

Project Overview: As a result of a labor strike affecting a major petroleum refinery, much of the facility’s operation was threatened by a complete lack of access to meal service. Cotton was called in to temporarily alleviate this disaster with temporary facilities, full-service meal preparation, comprehensive snack and beverage options, and other support resources. After urgently arriving on site, we were able to begin service in under 3 days. During the four months of the strike, Cotton Culinary was able to successfully serve 500 to 700 meals daily, culminating in 46,483 meals total. Our crew leaders also managed complex dietary restrictions and picket-line concerns throughout our presence on the site. Ultimately, with Cotton’s quick response and comprehensive packages of around-the-clock meal solutions, the refinery personnel were able to keep the refinery’s process units online and fully operational during the strike which resulted in a lasting partnership with the refinery’s parent company.
