New Housing Coming This Summer to South Texas

Houston TX – Cotton Logistics, a division of Cotton Commercial USA Inc, broke ground in late January and has set a date of June 1, 2012 for the opening of Phase 1 of the Lodge at Carrizo Springs, a turnkey workforce camp in Carrizo Springs, Texas. Located approximately 117 miles Southwest of San Antonio, Texas, in Dimmit County, the Lodge offers a solution for the shortage of accommodations occurring throughout South Texas due to the ongoing oil and gas production operations of the Eagle Ford Shale Play.

Cotton Inc. has been a global leader in disaster recovery for 16 years. Following catastrophic events, Cotton mobilizes swiftly and sets up housing and infrastructure for their own workforce so they can operate in affected area and also provides temporary facility solutions for clients whose businesses are damaged. In 2010, Cotton provided workforce housing and catering services for the MC252 Deepwater Horizon Incident – Oil Spill Response Project.

The Eagle Ford Shale Play, spanning roughly 50 miles wide and 400 miles long across Texas, is one of the largest discoveries of Oil and Natural Gas in North America that has only recently become a popular area for many of the nation’s producers due to developments in hydraulic fracturing technology. Small South Texas towns are finding themselves struggling to provide the basic infrastructure to accommodate the population explosion of oilfield and related service workers that has occurred within the last couple of years and is forecasted to grow increasingly over the coming months.

The Lodge at Carrizo Springs will provide comfortable lodging, dining and recreational facilities, allowing guests to recharge at the end of a long day while their basic needs are met. The 320-bed Lodge has a rustic, South Texas feel to it and the experienced staff of Cotton Logistics will provide catering, housekeeping, linen services, security, grounds maintenance and the overall management of the daily operation of the camp. Accommodations include a selection of jack-and-jill style and semi-private bedrooms with bathrooms and televisions. Guests at the Lodge will be served three meals per day – including box lunches – on a rotation of menus prepared by qualified chefs. Additional amenities include an onsite laundry facility and a WiFi-enabled business and recreation center with computer stations, flat screen televisions, a theater room, billiards, games, fitness equipment and an outdoor area with barbeque grills and picnic tables.

The location of the Lodge at Carrizo Springs is desirable because it is within the Carrizo Springs city limits, allowing occupants to be located near retail centers, restaurants, gas stations, and other businesses.

Entrance to the Lodge at Carrizo SpringsThe Lodge is also convenient in proximity to many operating sites, reducing drive time for our clients’ workforce in the area. The lodge can be scaled up in size and additional facilities added as our clients’ needs dictate.

Cotton Logistics is currently taking reservations for the Lodge and anticipates it to fill up quickly. Any companies or individuals with lodging or employment inquiries are encouraged to call 877-900-2308.
